After eating breakfast together this morning, we took the bus to Mitad del Mindo, the center of the world. Then we went to our hotel in Quito. This afternoon, most of us walked several blocks to a very large cathedral where we walked to the top of the bell tower climbing circular stairwells and ladders. It was an experience of awe, wonder, and a bit scarey at the top. The view was amazing. On the way back, Judy, Jessica, Karmen and I went to another beautiful Catholic church and soon after we arrived, the worship service began. The church was one of the most beautiful we've seen inside. We were pleasantly surprised when the service included several worship songs led by a guitar with everyone clapping.
